AC/DC fans in Toronto have been hit with devastating news.
The band’s highly anticipated concert scheduled for September 16, 2026, at Rogers Stadium in Toronto has officially been cancelled following an assessment of severe damage sustained by the venue during last week’s extreme weather event.
According to Rogers Stadium, portions of the venue suffered significant damage, leaving the stadium unable to safely accommodate fans for the September 16 concert.
“Given the damage to the stadium, the venue is not capable of hosting fans for the concert on September 16,” the stadium stated.
The decision comes after teams worked closely with the City of Toronto and other partners to assess the damage and determine whether the concert could proceed. Organizers also explored potential alternative venues in Toronto, but unfortunately, no suitable location could accommodate the event and its expected audience.
Safety Comes First
Wayne Zronik, President of Business Operations at Live Nation Canada, emphasized that the safety of fans, artists and employees was the priority.
“Cancelling a concert is never a decision we want to make,” Zronik said, acknowledging the disappointment for fans who had been looking forward to seeing AC/DC close out the summer season.
He added that the appropriate course of action is to take the necessary time to remove and rebuild the affected portions of Rogers Stadium so the venue can safely welcome fans next summer.
Rogers Stadium also said its focus is on completing the required work carefully, safely and responsibly, with the goal of having the stadium ready to welcome fans back next season.
Automatic Refunds for AC/DC Fans
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund to their original method of payment. No action is required from ticket holders.
The cancellation means Toronto will unfortunately not get the chance to see AC/DC take the stage at Rogers Stadium on September 16.
For thousands of fans who had been counting down the days to the legendary Australian rockers’ Toronto performance, the cancellation is a major disappointment.
