October 15, 2025 — After more than a decade as the voice and driving force behind Canadian melodic metal band Lutharo, vocalist Krista Shipperbottom has officially announced her departure from the group.

In a heartfelt and emotional statement shared on social media, Shipperbottom expressed that leaving the band was “without a doubt the most gut-wrenching and terrifying decision I have ever had to make.” She cited long-term struggles and the need to prioritize her mental health as reasons behind her decision, stating that she “was pushed to her limit by a long-term pattern of toxic and harmful behaviour from one individual.”

Despite the difficult circumstances, Krista made it clear that her passion for music remains strong:

“You definitely haven’t seen the last of me in music — that’s for sure! As stated before, this is my purpose and I will never stop fighting for that.”

Shipperbottom also took a moment to thank fans and friends for their unwavering support over the years, saying,

“Without you there’s no way I could have kept fighting or accomplished the incredible things with Lutharo that I did. You have no idea how much you all mean to me and I’m eternally grateful for you.”

Krista concludes her message with hope for the future:

“I truly hope we cross paths again on the road somewhere soon. Stay metal, my friends.”

Both Krista and fellow member Cory Hofing have confirmed their exit from the band.

For updates on Krista’s future projects, fans are encouraged to follow her on social media.
