Helloween — 40 Years Anniversary Tour Lands in Toronto with Power and Legacy

On April 19, Beast in Black opened the show with mastery and style. Yannis Papadopoulos and the whole band won over the crowd with their charisma and delivered a truly honorable warm-up for what was about to come.

But this wasn’t just an opening set — it was like a spark being lit. A rising energy, building quietly, preparing the room for something bigger… something inevitable.

And when that moment came, it came with weight, history, and legacy.

Inertia Entertainment made a surgical move by bringing Helloween’s 40th anniversary tour to Toronto. It pulled out hidden memories, smiles, and lyrics our minds never really forgot.

And maybe that’s exactly where everything becomes even more powerful… because this wasn’t the first time this story crossed my path. Back in 2008, during the Hellish Rock tour, when Helloween and Gamma Ray shared the stage in Porto Alegre, Brazil, there was already something in the air that was impossible to fully explain. A feeling of witnessing something bigger than just a show, was a mix of excitement, expectation and memories.

Now, so many years later, that same energy is still there — maybe even stronger, deeper, and more meaningful. The production was massive and worthy of these legends, with impeccable technology combined with tradition and respect for their own history, making us sing from beginning to end. It felt like two hours and fifteen minutes passed in just a few seconds.

Their energy hasn’t changed at all in 20 years. They engaged with the audience the entire time — they are truly unforgettable. The detail of opening the show with the name of the city they’re performing in was something remarkable and memorable.
The setlist is hard to explain because every song is strong on its own, and the order almost becomes secondary to the experience itself. The drum solo was a surprising moment; witnessing the technique and precision of Daniel Löble live was hypnotizing.

Sascha Gerstner moved across the stage like a piece of art — fluid, expressive, impossible to ignore.
Michael Kiske and Andi Deris formed a fun and energetic vocal duo, true showmen in every sense.
Kai Hansen, Markus Grosskopf, and Michael Weikath were magnificent.
This lineup carries a huge weight, bringing together different eras of the band and transforming the show into a true celebration of Helloween’s history.
