Drummer Cody Davidson of Sanguisugabogg recently sat down with This Day in Metal to discuss the band’s intense sound and upcoming plans. Their highly anticipated new album, Hideous Aftermath, drops October 10, 2025.
“…we are definitely always trying to maintain a level of simplicity that is, you know, cave-man like and low IQ and just like heavy as fuck,” said Davidson. “I think our biggest goal is to really just be as heavy as possible, and that’s the one thing we don’t compromise with.”
Speaking about the new album, Davidson added, “There are different twists and turns that we haven’t tried, and I feel like we always try to do that with every album, kind of have a new direction or a new focal point. The new album has a lot of different genre approaches too. We have some songs that are a little more black metal or crust punk inspired, and then we have some more epic parts. Then we have the single that’s already out, Repulsive Demise, which is our attempt at being more like Mortician meets Godflesh.”
The album promises relentless riffs, crushing drum work, and the signature Sanguisugabogg energy fans have come to expect.
