**Brent Fitz** is counting his blessings after revealing that he, along with two passengers, survived a terrifying car accident in Las Vegas earlier this week.

The drummer shared the news on social media, describing the incident as **“the scariest moment” of his life.**

According to Fitz, the crash happened **Sunday night on the 215 West near Jones Boulevard**, shortly after he had performed a show in Las Vegas. Fitz said he was driving two friends home when their vehicle was **struck from behind at full speed** by what he described as a reckless driver.

The impact **completely destroyed Fitz’s vehicle.**

Even more frighteningly, Fitz says the driver responsible for the crash **fled into oncoming traffic, traveling the wrong way on the highway** in an attempt to escape the scene.

Fitz said his passengers included **Kevin Hogg**, whom he recently welcomed as a new cast member and singer in his headline show, and actor **Junko Bailey**, who is involved with the upcoming horror film **SUNDOWN!!**, produced by **Slash**.

Despite the severity of the collision, Fitz said **all three survived**.

“I’m VERY thankful we’re all here and lived through it.”

Fitz also credited his ability to quickly get everyone out of danger after the impact, saying he was able to navigate away from the other vehicles traveling around them on the busy highway.

He expressed his gratitude toward the **Nevada State Trooper and paramedics** who arrived at the scene, calling their response immediate.

The accident has also forced Fitz to **step away from performing temporarily**.

“I’m currently not performing in the Ikons show, and need a little time to rest and recover from being totally banged up!”

Fitz ended his emotional message by reminding everyone how quickly life can change.

“Give your loved ones a hug!!!”

At this time, Fitz’s social media post is the primary source for the details surrounding the incident, and further information about the crash or the driver involved has not been independently confirmed.

For now, the metal community can simply be grateful that **Brent Fitz, Kevin Hogg and Junko Bailey survived** what sounds like an incredibly frightening situation.

**We wish Brent and everyone involved a full and speedy recovery.**
