A Night of Death Above Life: Orbit Culture Crush The Opera House in Toronto

Here’s a snapshot of what went down when The Opera House hosted Orbit Culture on their Death Above Life North American tour on March 3, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada — part of the band’s first major headlining run promoting their latest album Death Above Life released on October 3, 2025.
The Show & Lineup
- Orbit Culture delivered their crushingly heavy, groove-infused melodic death metal set backed by the touring lineup on the Death Above Life tour.
- Support came from Ov Sulfur and Atlas, adding layers of blackened deathcore and melodic hardcore/metalcore to the bill before the headliners hit the stage.
- Fans were in for a night of powerful riffs, intense vocals, and high energy — typical of this tour’s live shows.
Up first were Atlas, who are a Finnish metal band, who are inspired by Finnish mythology and poetry combined with dark soundscapes and modern metal. Their third album Sunder just dropped February 20th through Odyssey Music.
Atlas' setlist was as follows:
- Tower
- Coven of Two
- Anodyne
- I Whisper your Name Like a Curse
- Uni
- Ukko
- Salt and Sulfur
Next up were American blackened deathcore band, Ov Sulfur. Out of Las Vegas. their new album Endless was released January 16th through Century Media Records. They bring the heavy in heavy metal. Their new album's opening track "Endless//Godless" will rip your face off, while "Wither," a ballad included later in the set, will leave you with your eyes watering. Make sure you check these guys out and get their new album.
Ov Sulfur's setlist was:
- Endless//Godless
- Seed
- Strained in Rot
- Befouler
- Death Ov Circumstance
- Wither
- Forlorn
- Vast Enternal
- Evermore

The headliner for the evening was Orbit Culture, a melodic death metal band from Eksjo, Sweden. Their album Death Above Life dropped October 3, 2025 on Century Media Records. The band came out firing on all cylinders. The fans started crowd surfing right away and a big circle pit started to form. The fans were ready for the return of Orbit Culture and it was a show to remember. For a first North American headlining run, Orbit Culture really stepped up and delivered the goods.
They've always had that huge cinematic sound on record, but live it hits different - tighter, heavier, and way more intense. Niklas' vocals are ridiculous in person, and the groove in those riffs just punches you in the chest.
Catching a band on their first headlining tour here is special too - you can feel the hunger. Their performance proved they are not just a great studio band, but a legit live force as well.

Orbit Culture's set list was:
- The Storm
- Tales of War
- North Star Or Naja
- From The Inside
- Bloodhound
- The Shadowing
- Open Eye
- While We Serve
- Hydra
- Vultures Of North

If you were at the show or planning to go to another date on the tour, it’s safe to say the Death Above Life performance was a full-on, neck-breaking night of modern metal with a strong reaction from the heavy music crowd. Get out and see live music. Live music is always better. And always Listen to Metal.
