Killotine, Blackguard & Lutharo – Live in Toronto | July 26, 2025
Presented by Inertia Entertainment
📍 Horseshoe Tavern – Toronto, ON
A Night of Shared Energy & natural Power.
They played with a good energy that was fluidly expressed by everyone watching — a kind of shared electricity that flowed from the stage to the floor and back again. On July 26, the legendary Horseshoe Tavern became a cauldron of heaviness and heart, hosting a fierce and emotional gathering of Canadian metal. Three distinct bands, each delivering as if it were their final show, brought the crowd to life in unforgettable ways.
Killotine

Opening the night was Killotine, delivering a commanding performance filled with dense atmosphere and unrelenting energy. This wasn’t just another gig — it was their final show before representing Canada at Wacken Open Air 2025.
Their cinematic approach to metal — layered with sharp guitars and visceral vocals — pulled the audience in from the first note. Killotine played like a band on the edge of something bigger, and they were, they are destined to reach other levels.

Blackguard

Blackguard took the stage next and proved why they’re still one of the fiercest melodic death metal forces in the country. Frontman Paul Zinay led the charge with ease and charisma, creating an instant rapport with the crowd. I felt pure adrenaline, their set was filled with rhythmic shifts and epic passages.
Blackguard’s performance was a celebration of the Canadian scene — fierce, unfiltered, and utterly professional. Their sound has evolved over time, but they consistently balance melodic hooks, technical precision, and aggressive intensity, making them a standout act in the Canadian metal .

Lutharo – A Living Experience

Lutharo, the headliner, closed the night with brilliance.
Frontwoman Krista, is something else, her kindness and expressions on stage were mesmerizing, she delivered a vocal performance that hit like a wave to the chest — at once fierce, lyrical, and emotionally strong, I Couldn’t blink. Every note had weight, conviction, and undeniable harmony. The band as a whole radiated presence, sympathy and no doubt about the technical skills, balancing everything with explosive solos, and a stage performance that was fully immersive. It was delightful to see and their interaction with the audience was insane, they moved with them, headbanging, singing, and riding each dynamic shift .

Final Thoughts – A Scene That’s Alive & claiming her rightful place .
Presented by Inertia Entertainment, this was pure canadian power . From the underground to the international stage, Canadian metal is alive, thriving, and ready to be louder than ever. The Horseshoe Tavern pulsed with heart, heaviness .
“Three Canadian forces, each carrying their regional roots — from Hamilton to Montréal — turned the Horseshoe into a national showcase of metal excellence.”
Huge thanks to all the bands for giving everything on stage. It was an honor to capture these moments through the lens.
Until next time
